Maker's Statement:
My approach to any work is a celebration of the visual tension that I can create through dyeing, coloring or manipulation of the material. I endeavor to visually excite the viewer, and provoke them to expand their concepts of a traditional medium. This manipulation of materials is only the beginning of the playful approach that I have towards my work. I strive to imbue each piece with the emotional composition of nature; to keep developing, renewing and growing.
Commissioning Procedure
Art that is integrated with it's environment from concept through installation ensuring that your project, large or small, meets your expectations. Whether working with a architectural or design firm, a committee or individual, computer renderings of the finished project will assure you of the final result. Site specific sketches are available at no charge.
My tapestries and fiber constructions are made out of only the highest-quality materials. Through the use of computerized sketches, ordering a tapestry, fiber construction or textile art is easy. By communicating with you or your committee, I am able to discuss your needs and the options that are available, as well as answer questions. I will confirm your total cost, tax and shipping charges before you finalize your order.
Pricing Policy
The cost of a fiber piece is priced per square foot, depending upon complexity of design and technique employed. Site sketches are free when a digital image of the site is supplied. Free sketches are emailed with a nominal charge for hard copy mailed sketches. I have the ability to work within a budget and there are various techniques that can be employed to achieve the image that best enhances your environment. After finalization of the image and approval of the final sketch, a deposit of 30 - 50% is required before construction begins. Upon receipt of your deposit, I begin weaving/construction and send you updates of the progress. A tapestry usually progresses at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per day while other techniques proceed much faster. A firm deadline must be mentioned before sketching begins.
Fine Tapestry start at £300 per square foot, Medium and Dense Tapestry start at £210 per square foot, Fiber Constructions start at a range from £120-£210 per square foot, Quilts start at £112 per square foot, Appliquéd Felts start at £125 per square foot
