Commissioning Procedure
Glass and mixed media pieces may be commissioned for interiors and exteriors, including lighting, my priority is in providing an innovative and beautiful contribution to the space that fulfills the client's needs. All design ideas would be discussed in depth with the commissioner and information and drawings provided throughout.
Commissions range from one-off semi-functional pieces to large-scale water features, budgets from £800 for gold and silver leaf, lettering piece to £15,000 for an in-situ commission. All work is completed to the highest quality. At time of commissioning we establish delivery dates, and payment methods, usually installments throughout the commission.
I aim for a type of harmony within an environment and with people, addressing the use, colours and culture of the place. I have a varied portfolio of work that is available to see, including my recent combinations of glass and stone, the stone providing scale with the jewel-like qualities of glass.
Susan is willing to travel internationally and nationally, in order to see potential sites, clarify details, show samples and propose design solutions. Costs would be added to price.
Clients are encouraged to visit the studio, to meet the artist and see the full range of skills and expertise, experience suggests that it is usually the smallest find within the samples in the studio, that truly inspires the commissioner and artist, as designs are developed! I source assistants through Art and Design University graduates.
