Maker's Statement:

Studio visits are welcome.

Commissioning Procedure
Normally a preliminary discussion by telephone to determine the nature of the job, the interests/expectations of the client, possible exchange of photographs of the site and other relevant visual material and a very rough estimation of the potential cost plus brief design sketches if the pricing seems feasible.

Subject to agreement/contract I would normally try to visit the client to measure up and familiarise myself with the site, and clarify stylistic preferences, possible glass colours and any other material and installation considerations. A detailed estimate is then supplied.

Subject to confirmed contract I would draw up detailed designs and colouring choices, to be confirmed by photo/e.mail etc, as suitable.

Upon acceptance the work is made, with some stage by stage confirmation of progress by photo/e.mail

Delivery may be by myself or suitable carrier.

Installation may be myself or, for more involved situations/double glazing etc., may require a locally contracted glazier/installer – this to be negotiated at the outset of the project.

Pricing Policy
All work is normally made as an original, unique project, designed from scratch, and priced accordingly. (Standard traditional patterns at a relatively lower cost may also be undertaken if required, but are probably only cost effective to local customers).

All works are carried out to high standards in leaded stained glass, using antique mouthblown and contemporary glass as required by the design. The work may also include hand painted elements permanently fired in vitreous paint, and may incorporate textured cast pieces in any combination according to design.

Leaded stained glass panels can be installed single glazed, as they come, or can be supplied as triple-glazed sealed units made with float, laminated, toughened or ’K’ glass according to location and any building regulations appertaining to the situation.

Installation may need to be carried out by a suitable glazier operating locally, at addiional cost,as required, and this needs to be established at the outset of the project.

Prices are charged from about £250 - £500* per square foot, above a minimum threshold of £1000 to cover base costs applicable to any project.

*Since each work is unique, pricing very much depends upon the nature of work required: whether there is a simple or complex design; how much painting is involved; particular installation requirements, and the distance involved.

25% at the outset and the commissioning of detailed drawings
25% once the designs are agreed and work on the actual construction begins
50% at the completion of the project
