Every project is individually researched and often includes local consultation, either with professionals, local interest groups or other community groups like schools. Some of the consultation takes the form of art workshops where the resulting imagery feeds directly into the finished public sculpture.

From 1982 She has exhibited both sculpture and two dimensional work throughout Great Britain and in Germany in both solo and group exhibitions including venues : Tate Gallery lawn, London; Air Gallery, London; The Yorkshire Sculpture park; Kildrummy Castle, Scotland; Hyde Park, London; The Cornerhouse, Manchester and many others.

She has work in private collections in Germany, USA and Great Britain and in public collections in Great Britain including ACGB, Leicestershire Education Authority, Grizedale Forset, Cumbria She is a Crafts Council Selected Maker

1991 Waverley Shopping Centre, Edinburgh - The Herons Dream sculpture filling 2 atrium 11m high. A collaborative work with Michael Johnson, Chris Campbell and Jonny White. Incorporating sculpture, Gates, screens, fountains, seating etc in many materials and by many methods. Commissioned by Speciality Shops PLC
1992 Fish Street, Hull - The Filleters Gate Stainless steel 2m x 0.8m. Commissioned by The Hull Festival and sponsored by Smales
1993 Westborough High School, Dewsbury - Childrens’ Screens Steel and cast aluminium 6m high. Commissioned by the school for its new sports hall exterior
1994 Hatfield Manor Middle School, Yorkshire - Parish Map Sculpture, stainless steel and cast aluminium on cast iron and timber 3.5m x 2.8m. Commissioned by the school for its 21st birthday
1995 to 1997 Rotherham Transport Interchange - Portrait of Rotherham design work and manufacture of 27 screens, steel. Each measuring 4m x 3m. Commissioned by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive
1996 Royal Mail HQ, Chesterfield - A Bird in the Hand sculpture and 2 benches, stainless steel and cast aluminium and pebble. 3m high. Commissioned by Peveril Securities Ltd.
1997 Nottingham Fashion Centre - Three draped women gate 3.6m x 2m laser cut mild steel, rust finished. Commissioned for the new extension.
1997 Town Hall St. King William St and Northgate, Blackburn - Worsted Gates 2 gates and railings stainless steel and bronze. Designed and made with Michael Johnson. Commissioned by Blackburn Borough Council. 1997 Soap House Lane, Woodhouse, Sheffield ( wetlands ecology site) - Ecology Gateway. Gate way and screen incorporating disabled ‘keyhole access’. Steel 3.5m x 2.5m. Commissioned by Sheffield Wildlife Action Partnership.
1998 Rotherham City Centre - linking Bus and train stations. Bus Trail cast iron paving inlays ( 5 different designs and sizes). Commissioned by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.
1999 Sneinton Library, Nottingham - Railings to Sneinton Library and housing office. 26 meters mild steel. Art workshops preceding design stage undertaken by Usha Mahenthiralingam
1999 Charnwood Museum, Loughborough - Railing panels to disabled ramp at Charnwood Museum, Loughborough in stainless steel. Artwork imagery for the panels was undertaken with adults from the Loughborough Art Club and teenagers from Limehurst School making collagraph prints. 9 panels laser cut.
1999 Deane, Bolton - The Birds and the Trees stainless steel and bronze arch 4m high x 3m. Cannon St Tree Grill and guard steel with bronze inlays into stone surround. Gillnow Lane landscape. Steel road closure screen, 1m high x 5m x 0.2. Designed and made with Michael Johnson
1999 Sculpture: Solidarity, Heavy Metal Kidz for Spital lane in Chesterfield - Preceding consultation undertaken with local history group and art workshops to inform the imagery with GCSE art Students from local secondary school, and Y6 students from local primary school. 2 m high steel work cut in 40mm plate, and two bronze and stainless steel marker posts.
1999 Landmark sculpture: The Chorus Line A 7.5 meter high work in painted stainless steel to sign post the Theatre Royal and The Playhouse in Nottingham. Sited on Maid Marian Way
2000 Lime Kilns bronze panels an interpretation of the site of 18th century lime kilns on The Banks of the River Wear, Sunderland. The site, the chemistry of Lime Burning and uses of lime.
2000 National War Museum of Scotland Edinburgh Castle: Landmark entrance Sculpture. Stainless steel and cast glass.
2000 Community Portraits in steel, to be set into new railings on Royal Mint St. London. Commissioned by One Mile East and Look Ahead Housing for a Railtrack site
2000 Consultation for Hadstone in Northumberland. Looking at using artworks and Community involvement in a number of environmental improvements. Working with Arts Resource, Sunderland.
2001 Memory of Monkwearmouth colliery cast iron track inlays and sculpture. C2C Cycle track Whitehaven to Sunderland. Stadium Park Sunderland
2001 Portrait of Blyth. Quayside Redevelopment, Blyth Northumberland. Design Project working with the local community to generate images about their environment. Lazer cut panels to railings.
2001 Sure Start: Mansfield Artworks to be part of the new-build centre working with local schools to realise the designs for a number of cast bronze and smalti glass. Mosaic paving inlays, cast bronze and cast aluminium wall relief, marmolium flooring, sculptural Sign to front street.
2001 Three sculptures for the Nutbrook Trail Erewash Valley and the Amber Valley, Derbyshire. Three sculptures of plants in mild steel with bronze inlays made with Community workshops and poems by local writers. Commissioned by Groundwork Trust for the Cycle trail from Shipley to Long Eaton

2002 Sure Start Centre - Beaumont Leys Leicester gate, tree seat, tree grills, decorative railings. 25m long wall relief. A stainless and glass hanging sculpture for the reception area. Community consultation included schools, elderly sheltered accommodation, baby clinic, Carers and toddler group. Learning support units in Babbington Community College and Soar Valley College.

1980 –91 worked in Nottingham in group studios which she helped to establish and run
1991 She has worked with her husband in studios attached to their family home in North Nottinghamshire.

From 1981 She has worked periodically in residence in schools, a psychiatric hospital, museums, sculpture parks in Germany and in Great Britain, public parks and Grizedale Forest, sometimes alone, sometimes running workshops for members of the public, children, adults, people with disabilities and learning difficulties. From time to time she has worked in Art colleges, mainly in Sculpture departments from Falmouth to Newcastle upon Tyne.

From 1983 she has worked to commission for public sites in both rural and urban environments.
