Michael Johnson
 
In 1985 he moved to Nottingham to help establish Nottingham City Artist’s studio group.

Moving in 1991 to Poplars Farm where he now lives and works. He has taught in a number of educational situations; schools, universities, galleries etc., and has worked in a number of residential situations, many resulting in sited artworks. He has exhibited regularly in this country and abroad, both in larger national venues and in smaller non-gallery venues. The majority of the studios output is to commission.

96/99 Church Street, Seaham, Co. Durham. A number of works for a street improvement scheme, including, bollards, seats, shelters, bronze and iron inlays these are 900 mm dia, and were cast from patterns produced working with the artist Usha Mehenthiralingam
1997 Haswell Plough Monument, Co. Durham .Metalwork. In the 19C there was a mine disaster at Haswell Plough mine which killed 95 men and boys. I made the rail posts which for part of the railings surrounding the monument
1997 Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, An entrance arch to a cycle way steel 5.5m x 3.5m sited at the entrance of a former railway sidings. Chains were pulled across the road to stop traffic to allow trains to pass. Similar chains were used in the design of the Columns
