Teucer Wilson

Having trained as a stonemason and architectural carver, I specialised in lettering as an apprentice to Richard Kindersley, lettercutter. His father was apprentice to Eric Gill, so I am in that tradition. I also enjoy working stone three dimensionally, and combining fine lettering with sculptural form and relief carving where possible. I set up my own workshop in June 2000 and shortly after this received the Crafts Council Development Award. I have been busy ever since working on commissions.

Maker's Statement:
My aim is to create bespoke individual pieces which suit their environment, and respond to the wishes and vision of the client in some way where this is appropriate. I like to use a range of materials from stone to cast iron to glass, but mostly stone.

Studio visits are welcome.

Commissioning Procedure
I would expect to meet my clients in person and visit the site where possible before considering a commission. Then designs and sketches would be made, and a price based upon the final design. I can work via email, but personal visits are preferred.

Pricing Policy
My prices vary according to what the individual piece is. Every piece is a one-off and therefore has its own price.
prices vary from £200 - 10,000 depending on the commission
